How it works

A four-step cycle that never goes down.

Pre-coat

A thin, dynamic gel layer is deposited continuously on a robust substrate as feed water enters the system. The gel is non-hazardous, water-treatment-grade chemistry already approved across the industry.

Separate

The gel acts as a self-renewing nano-filter with an effective cut-off down to 10 nm — equivalent to the separation performance of a standard ultrafiltration membrane, but with throughput characteristics closer to a sand filter.

Backwash

When fouling triggers a rise in trans-membrane pressure (TMP), a short backwash cycle of 15–60 seconds sheds the loaded gel. Backwash volumes are low and can go to drain — no caustic, acid or biocide CIP cycles.

Re-coat & resume

The substrate is re-coated with fresh gel and operation resumes at full flux. Because the active separation layer is replaceable rather than embedded in a permanent membrane, the system avoids the irreversible-fouling failure mode that drives the operating cost of conventional UF and RO plants.
